    114802 - Talent Skate Camp

    Youth are invited to learn to skateboard at the Andy A_Dog Skatepark, from some of Vermont's finest boarders. This camp is geared to skaters with beginner to intermediate skills. Skaters will be split into groups based on age and abilities. Talent Skatepark staff will be directing the camp and teaching participants tricks such as pushing, ollieing, dropping in, board slides and grinds. All skaters must have helmets that clip shut and wrist, elbow and knee pads. This is a skateboarder camp (no scooters, inline, or bmx.)

    This is a five-day introduction to sailing. Participants will learn the basics of rigging, points of sail, sailing maneuvers and capsize recovery in a safe and fun environment.     114820 - Maven Skate Camp

    In a creative and safe environment that promotes wellness and encourages communication, growth, perseverance and happiness, campers will progress to the next level of skating. In this one-week skateboarding camp hosted by Maven, beginners will learn skateboard mechanics and basic riding skills such as balance, pushing, turning, stopping, riding transitions, and dropping-in. Advanced skaters will have the opportunity to drop in on bigger obstacles/features, and learn more challenging tricks. Skaters will be assessed on the first day of the camp to establish skateboarding goals. Lessons will be adapted to each individual’s ability. All participants are educated in skateboard safety, including skateboard maintenance and skatepark etiquette. If there are any rain days, campers will explore skateboarding through music, art and culture. Campers will have the opportunity to design and paint their very own skateboard (Deck Only), as well as navigate different art mediums related to the skateboard culture. Campers are responsible for bringing their own complete skateboards, safety equipment and water bottles.

    This camp will go over all aspects of the game of disc golf, including stretching, putting, driving, uproaching, sidearms, backhands, and rollers. We will discuss technique, disc types, etiquette, growth of the sport and Vermont disc golf leagues, clubs and events. Professional disc golfer and GMDGC president, Chris Young, will bring 15+ years experience as a player and as an organizer. The United States Junior Disc Golf Championships, along with the Professional World Championships will be held in Vermont in 2018 and information and first hand knowledge of these events will be shared as well. Discs will be provided for the participants to use for the camp and disc golf baskets will be setup for a daily 9 hole course.

    Professional Soccer Academy invites young soccer enthusiasts to be part of a challenging educational experience. The Academy offers an opportunity to learn and enjoy many aspects of the game of soccer in a competitive environment from a current professional player. Fundamentals as well as sophisticated techniques of soccer will be taught on a personalized individual level along with various forms of group instruction provided by Camp Director Bo Vuckovic and several other Vermont Voltage professional soccer players. Emphasis is placed on the development, improvement and refinement of basic playing skills. Attention will be given to the instruction of good ball control habits and movement techniques in challenging drills and simulated match situations. Conditioning methods and training ethics are also stressed to prevent injuries and improve the young athlete's coordination and flexibility. Bo understands the needs of youth in soccer and stresses the development of a positive self-image, mental stimulation and a sense of respect and sportsmanship among players. All participants get a soccer ball and a t-shirt.

    115501 - Cool Camp

    Each session of Cool Camp features nearly two hours each day on the ice as well as swimming, games, crafts and activities. Campers are grouped by ability for skating instruction. Cool Camp is appropriate for beginner skaters to those at the preliminary level.

    412003 - April Break Camp

    This licensed vacation camp is for school aged kids in Kindergarten through Fifth grade. The camp will provide your kids with fun, excitement, friendships, and a chance to be out and about in our community on a daily basis. We will be offering active games, outside play, arts& crafts, off site activities, and free time. A daily cold breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack will be provided. Childcare subsides accepted. Sign up for any individual day or all days. You can also add on early morning care from 7:30am-9:00am for an additional $5 per day. Please register by April 13th.

    414802 - Spring Youth Lacrosse

    Burlington Youth Lacrosse, Inc. is fielding 3 boy’s and 3 girl’s teams at the 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 grade levels. Practices will be twice a week, and are TBD based on field/weather conditions. Games are held once a week, on weekends, boys on Saturdays and girls on Sundays, during the month of May. Emphasis will be on basic stick skills and the fundamentals of lacrosse. The club strives to promote respect, teamwork, and commitment in a positive atmosphere. The coaches will provide final schedules (times & dates.)

    Burlington Youth Lacrosse, Inc.will offer scholarships for fees and assist with equipment needs. Scholarships will be handled at the time of registration. An additional $25 will be needed to cover lacrosse insurance; parents will need to go to www.uslacrosse.org to acquire this. Register through BPRW, but for more up-to-date information, go to www.btvlax.com. Informational/registration meetings are being held on: March 6, 7:00pm at the Miller Center & March 8, 7:00pm at Champlain Elementary School gym.

    414810 - Maven After School Skate

    In a creative and safe environment that promotes wellness and encourages communication, growth, perseverance and happiness, campers will progress to the next level of skating. In this after school skateboarding workshop hosted by Maven, beginners will learn skateboard mechanics and basic riding skills such as balance, pushing, turning, stopping, riding transitions, and dropping-in. Advanced skaters will have the opportunity to drop in on bigger obstacles/features, and learn more challenging tricks. Skaters will be assessed on day one of the 6 session program to establish skateboarding goals. Lessons are adapted to each individual’s ability. All participants are educated in skateboard safety, including skateboard maintenance and skatepark etiquette.
    If there are any rain days, campers will explore skateboarding through music, art and culture. Campers will navigate the mechanics and maintenance needs of their equipment, as well as examine different creative art mediums related to the skateboard culture.

    Professional Soccer Academy invites young soccer enthusiasts to be part of a challenging educational experience. The Academy offers an opportunity to learn and enjoy many aspects of the game of soccer in a competitive environment from a current professional player. Fundamentals as well as sophisticated techniques of soccer will be taught on a personalized individual level along with various forms of group instruction provided by Camp Director Bo Vuckovic and several other Vermont Voltage professional soccer players. Emphasis is placed on the development, improvement and refinement of basic playing skills. Attention will be given to the instruction of good ball control habits and movement techniques in challenging drills and simulated match situations. Conditioning methods and training ethics are also stressed to prevent injuries and improve the young athlete's coordination and flexibility. Bo understands the needs of youth in soccer and stresses the development of a positive self-image, mental stimulation and a sense of respect and sportsmanship among players. All participants get a soccer ball and a t-shirt.

    Each class of the four-part series will feature a meat and vegetable dish to be prepared and served with injera bread. Injera bread is an East African sourdough flatbread with a unique slightly spongy texture. The bread is a staple food in Ethiopia and Eritrea, where it is served with almost every meal. The last class in June will feature two vegetarian dishes and how to make injera bread. You may sign up for all four classes or individual classes!
